About Supported Holidays
by Fun Filled Breaks
Since 2010, Derek and Janine Morley have been offering Supported Holidays to adults with a learning disability, from the South Yorkshire region.
Derek has 25 years’ experience of working in local authority respite and day centres and Janine has worked with people with a learning disability for the last 7 years. Between them they have developed an excellent reputation for creating fun-filled, person-centred holidays with happy memories where people come back year after year
Supported Holidays aim is to support people with a mild to moderate learning disability to access holidays that promote social inclusion and which value people as individuals. While we use minibus travel to some destinations, we feel we are unique in that we also utilise coaching holidays, enjoying the fun and excitement of a larger group holiday. We strive to ensure that each holiday is a truly wonderful, inclusive experience for all that go on them. All activities undertaken whilst away are client lead, with enthusiastic staff on hand to support the holidaymakers to make sure they are safe. We understand that our holidaymakers enjoy going away in groups with likeminded people and that they enjoy making new friends and we wholeheartedly believe we help to achieve this. We listen to feedback and suggestions after each holiday and hopefully tailor the destinations to where our holidaymakers wish to go. Fun Filled Breaks have gained a great deal of trust and respect from holidaymakers, parents and carers who book with us time and again, telling us of the positive effect our holidays have by promoting independence. The holidays are also a fun alternative to respite. By letting us organise everything, holidaymakers can relax and make the most of their time away.
There is always 2 qualified staff per holiday, supporting between 6 and 8 holidaymakers, depending on needs. One to one support may be available at an additional cost and anyone requiring such support should contact us to discuss their options.
